You would be amazed at how many artists and bands choose not to sign with a label or having not be accepted or approached by one. This is , one because a lot of artists view labels as being restricting and money grabbing and think they can do better without them , which sometimes is true but other times could end up being a mistake.

And 2 because often artists don’t fit the ideal vision of labels and probably wont make them money as quick and as efficiently as the label wants . And furthermore some Artists or Bands aren’t quite there in there careers so labels don’t thinks its viable taking them on.
