Composing your single:
The song that I will recording for the Final Major Project is called “Heartbrake”
It includes the chords G major B minor A and E.
The way I went about choosing these main chords is I went back to my notes and looked through the chord scales and because I had really liked incorporating G major in bar chord form into my songs. I hadn’t really looked into the chords in a G major scale so I looked for the chords that came along with G major and these were G major , A minor , B minor , C major , D major and E minor.

So now I started messing around with these chords and found out I really liked switching from G major to B minor then tried switching from B minor to A minor but that didn’t work in the way I wanted it to sound. Knowing that A major can be quite a bold and upbeat chord I tried using that and it ended up working really nicely. From there I instinctively went to a D major chord because I new that A major to D major worked well anyway.
Then it was just a matter of coming up with the chords for the chorus but as I’d already decided i didn’t want the song to have drastic changes I ended up keeping the B minor chord and switching from B minor to A major and then to E major. I modulated from the G major scale by using the E major chord at the end of the chorus chord progression. In my opinion it still sounds good and works well.
Also in this song I’ve decided I’m going to use drums , bass , guitar and vocals.
This song is cool for me because it incorporates lyrics from my dad’s poem book which he wrote when he was younger. This means a lot to me so hopefully it comes out as well as it should do.
It uses 2 verses split up by 2 chorus and ended by a bridge and a final chorus in the song form ABC.
With recording we have 1 week to record bass , drums and guitar which hopefully is accomplishable and the next week to record vocals
For the marketing side we need to find a launch event place so we can launch our single and we are thinking of using either cantina or the jolly farmer. And the dates could either be 28th of may and 1st of June
And we will probably set up a separate website for the event and create posters which should be a good start.
After some discussion with all groups and courses on the course and all of us decided to do a gig together which at first would of been cantina but that fell through so we moved on to doing it at the Jolly Farmer on the 1st of June which is a Saturday and will be a 6 hour event from 12 till 6.
