A showcase is an event put on by a band/artist or event manager to promote or or showcase a bands new single or album to a public audience to get feedback and a feel for the songs that they release.
typically what happens at a showcase is the band goes to an event, plays there songs to a crowd hopefully full of fans and people who will enjoy there music . They then give away or sell cheap there albums or singles and merchandise. As well as have a meet and greet with the audience and possibly talk about what they thought of the performance. And finally they go backstage and get ratted.
